Ron Paul is having a donation drive for his Presidential campaign today. As a supporter, I've made a small donation and encourage anyone who believes in freedom, democracy, the Constitution, and economic sanity to also make a donation.
Having watched the donation totals on the website, Ron Paul 2008 , I am astounded at the breadth of support across this country. From Maine to California, from Florida to Washington, and not forgetting Hawaii and Alaska, the people are voting with their wallets. In the hour I sampled, donations came in at the rate of about $1500 per minute with an average donation of around $85. Amazing is the only word that comes to mind.
What is even more amazing is the support from those states where the caucuses and primaries have already taken place. A big hand to these supporters. Ron Paul may have not done so well in some of these contests, but his supporters still believe in the message and are shooting for the Republican National Convention and not just their own individual state.
The three weeks of this quarter have amounted to over $2.1 million so far and this day isn't over yet! For those who don't want to do the math, that's about $100,000 per day average. What other candidate is getting small donation from the average American at that rate? Very few is my guess, instead they are relying on large donation from the wealthy and businesses.
Keep up the good work people and remember to attend and vote in your upcoming caucus or primary.
